Born in Sapa

Born in Sapa. Built for Travelers Who Want the Real Thing.

We are not a hotel-backed tour operator. We are twelve people from the Black H'mong community who grew up on these trails — and turned that into a career.

We Didn't Start as a Tour Company. We Started as Kids Selling Handicrafts.

Chu, Sang, Tung — our guides grew up in the villages you will visit. Black H'mong children who spent their childhoods helping parents farm rice terraces and selling handmade textiles at the Sapa market. That is how they learned English: one sentence at a time, one curious traveler after another, on cold street corners and muddy trail junctions.

That community access is what makes every Trekking Tour Sapa route different. We do not take guests to the viewpoints that appear in every travel blog. We walk through working farms, stop in on families our guides have known for years, and eat lunch at tables where the cooking pot came off a wood fire twenty minutes ago. These are places that take a lifetime of roots to reach — not a guidebook.

Today, Trekking Tour Sapa is a fully licensed operator based at 105 Thach Son Street in the heart of Sapa — License No. 10-078/2023. Our twelve team members all come from the Black H'mong community. None of them commute. They live in the villages you will walk through, on trails they have known since childhood.

Our People

Built by H'mong Women. Led by H'mong Women.

Before joining Trekking Tour Sapa, most of our guides had one realistic income option: selling handmade textiles at the market — seasonal earnings, uncertain, dependent on how many tourists happened to pass by. Tourism changed that path completely.

Today, 11 of our 12 team members are H'mong women. They run every part of this company — guiding on the trails, handling bookings, managing customer care, planning routes, coordinating transport. A stable monthly salary means they can invest in their children's schooling, take care of their parents, and build a career that belongs entirely to them.

When you book with us, your money stays here. It goes directly to these women and their families — not to a city-based agency or a foreign investor. That is what it actually means to travel with a locally-run company.

"Tung was fantastic. We did the 2-day homestay and she made every moment feel real — not touristy at all. Woke up to mist over the terraces and had breakfast with the host family. Absolutely unforgettable."

"Really well organized. Sang picked us up from the hotel on time, the trail was beautiful, and the group was small enough that it never felt rushed. Would have liked a bit more time at the waterfall but overall a great day."
